Among this May and June, after attending CCEC first annual meeting, I have visited the USA for a whole month from North Dakota to Wyoming, then from Colorado to Oklahoma and till the last stop New York. The trip of the middle-US was an excellent and provoking scroll for me.

          I arrived in the first destination- North Dakota on 10th May. This famous agricultural province is praised as“American Granary” and it is neighboring to Saskatchewan where our CCEC oilfields located. Two large provinces are sharing the rich mineral resources from Williston basin and the same clouds and sky. The chief scientist of North Dakota Industry and Energy Department introduced me their energy industry and resources distribution including the thick underground coal bed, oil and natural gas as well as other abundant resources. All illustrated the state had a large number of undeveloped virgin lands and the most completed geological database in North America. The experts also explained the secondary oil recovery technology through CO2 oil-displacement, which had significance for improving the recovery ratio. ZhongRong Group showed strong interest and hoped our CCEC oil operation could combine these technologies and resources to develop more efficiently.
        After listening to ZhongRong Group introduction, North Dakota State Governor esteemed ZhongRong as a risk investor with global insight and initiative, and who has developed remarkable projects in real estate and energy fields. He then elaborated on investment environment and preferential tax policy; in the end, he also gave me two vehicle license plates as a gift which meant“welcome to come at any time”. Such attentive hospitality made me think of a saying in traditional Chinese, “Isn't it delightful to meet friends from afar?”
        In the following days, I had an on-spot investigation on the large-scale commercial gas development in Powder River Basin of Wyoming State. The American's common conscience of energy-saving, efficiency and scientism deeply impressed and enlightened me. Their development of coal-bed gas not only changed waste to valuable clean fuel, but also tremendously improved miners' safety condition.
      I landed on Denver, the capital city of Colorado on May 17th. The imposing copious mineral resources and a plenty of mineral college presented me a well-known mining area in the States. The magnificent Rocky Mountains nourished Denver with rich minerals. This strategic place in the middle USA was established in 1858 because of gold mine discovery and became the state capital in 1867. As early as 1970s, Denver had already be the center of oil, natural gas, coal, uranium and solar energy resources in the west USA. The round gold-foil roofed State Capitol stands in the city centre like a witness of Gold Rush 150 years ago, telling the past wealth and populous. Since it was an old famous mining area, the coordinated and supporting measures for energy and minerals were well developed, such as “Economic Committee”which offers satisfactory service to oversea companies invested in Denver.
        Oklahoma, the strategic energy post was my key visiting place, where had the 3rd natural gas output and 4th of petroleum in the USA. Because of the early exploration, its natural gas pipelines have linked up all parts of the country with five oil refineries and other auxiliary projects and service. Director of Oklahoma Commerce Department explained me about their energy industry, talents advantage and preferential tax-refund policy, and welcomed ZhongRong to invest. Oklahoma State Governor gave me a state flag. This blue flag printed with olive branch, calumet (or ceremonial peace pipe) and eagle feathers symbolizes diverse Native-American culture and the unity of all ethnic groups in the territory. Such behavior was not only a honorable propriety but also a sincere call for us.
        The USA is the world largest oil consumption and import country. With the population of 5% of the world, its oil and natural gas consumptions are respectively as 25% and 24% of the world. What made this insufficient energy nation, still welcomed ZhongRong- an outsider to invest in energy? The reason not only proved the USA as a broad-minded country that encouraged competition and efficiency, but also illustrated ZhongRong's identity as an investor, developer, risk prospector and environment protector but not a plunderer. The group company has always stressed on business ethnics, paid tax by law and proactively employed advanced technology in a target and mission of contributing more oil production to the world in that one more barrel of oil may reduce some pressure on global energy demand.
        Finishing investigation on Tulsa, the Oil Capital of the world and renowned oil and gas Gulf of Mexico, I reached the last stop- New York. Here I met international financial leaders such as Morgan Stanley, Goldman& Sachs and Lehman Brothers, etc.
        These Wall Street financers admired ZhongRong's investment concept and creativity. Meanwhile, I was inspired by our conversation too. An enterprise only by working shoulder by shoulder with financial institutions can grow even better. A company with ambitious vision cannot develop in long term without assistance of international finance. In the future, ZhongRong Group shall increase cooperation with international financial organizations, to make capital and resources achieve the optimum distribution.
        ZhongRong Group has many wonderful stories in the past and a bright future. She is an episode in Sino-US cooperation, which reflectes time theme of“win-win cooperation and development”. Just as the meaning of ZhongRong that“the confluence of East and West can accomplish a united world”, the Group has opened her arms, welcoming friends from all over the world. We deeply believe that China and the USA will be friends for generations and will broadly cooperate to create a better future.
